An Experience for the Ages

At Hakarat HaTov, we pride ourselves on giving you not only a luxurious living space but an experience not soon forgotten. One of our many guests had a glowing commendation about her experience, as she had this to say:

I am European and visited Nigeria Recently, right when the short-let apartment opened. I had never been to Africa before and I was looking for a comfortable, pleasant, and safe place to spend my stay.

At Hakarat HaTov, the friendly staff took care of me all the time. Upon request, pleasant meals were prepared following my dietary needs: fresh and typical local food. If I needed anything else, a staff would voluntarily accompany me to a nearby shopping center.

The apartment building is a big, beautiful structure with clean, cool, and elegant interiors. I had access to air conditioning, internet connectivity, a private bathroom, and other basic amenities. When I wanted to relax, I read books on the balcony while I listened to the pleasant rustle of the nearby palm leaves. The building is securely fenced, in proximity to useful services such as African markets, a shopping center, a church, and much more.

I was provided with access to the car service so that I could easily reach places I had wished to visit. Having no contact in Lagos, I asked the Hakarat HaTov team where I could buy African clothes, and souvenirs, as well as do the Nigerian hairstyle. The staff booked a visit to the tailor and hair salon for me and also told me where to change my money into local currency, to buy typical African items.

For my birthday, I was treated to a lovely breakfast with both international and Nigerian meals, and later that evening, the staff organized a birthday party in a nearby restaurant. I met other guests when I went out in the community to eat other local delicacies and ended up feeling a little uneasy (not being used to exotic foods). The staff members were helpful, as they gave me advice on how to cure myself and where to find the medicine that would ease my discomfort.

During my stay, I had wanted to do something humanly important and the staff, upon request, accompanied me to charity organizations to safely meet people in need, and this made me very grateful. Additionally, I wanted to know more about Nigerian culture, like some words, traditions, and music, and the host taught me a lot.

I had a good time at the Hakarat Hatov apartment, and I am thinking of going back there when I visit Nigeria again.
